Pre-existing Health Conditions
There is a high chance you will find the Japanese health system and medical practices to be different from what you are used to. You may find it difficult, or even impossible, to continue to manage a pre-existing medical condition. Access to prescriptions and over-the-counter medicines, English-speaking medical support, and the treatment that you are used to will be limited, especially for mental health and chronic conditions. We encourage you to seek out information that may apply to your situation prior to committing to teaching in Japan.

If you are recruited from outside Japan, you will be required to undergo a company paid health check (at minimum for Tuberculosis) upon arrival and annually thereafter. If you are recruited from inside Japan, you will be required to undergo a company paid health check annually.
